Problem

Fitness apps are cluttered and data-heavy; beginners lose momentum without clarity or support.

What I did

Redesigned home and profile around one daily challenge, a calendar strip and grouped progress modules.

Outcome

Users know what to do each day, and progress motivates instead of stressing.

Daily Challenge

Goals and the daily flow

  • Simplify the journey: one task, one challenge, one view.
  • Show data without stress.
  • Add emotional motivation.
  • Encourage social accountability with group progress.
User flow

  • Screen
  • System action
  • Decision

A day in the app

  1. Start: Greeting and today’s date
  2. Screen: Today’s challenge
  3. Screen: Calendar strip: keep the streak
  4. Screen: Task cards: status, time, room and trainer
  5. Screen: Profile: weight, goal and calories
  6. End: Share progress with friends

Home and profile

  • Home: the daily challenge
  • Profile: progress dashboard
  • Home

A personal greeting, one bold challenge, a calendar strip for consistency and only two task cards (Hick’s law), with big tap areas (Fitts’s law).

  • Profile

Start weight, goal and daily calories first; routes, best time and statistics each in their own block (common region, chunking).

Prototype

  1. Home: today’s challenge
  2. Profile: progress at a glance

1 / 2 Home: today’s challenge

Tap the screen, swipe, or use ← → to move through the flow.

Reflection

UX laws are strongest when used together, and emotional design matters as much as usability: small visual changes can make people want to come back.
