Why Rawaa lives inside WhatsApp
The app wall
Every loyalty tool restaurants in Jordan already knew started the same way: “download our app”. Desk research and the two competitor apps pointed at the same problem. Casual and first-time guests, the exact people a café wants to bring back, are unlikely to install an app for a small reward.
Meeting guests where they already are
So the guest side of Rawaa has no app. A QR code on the table opens WhatsApp, and the whole loop continues there: a welcome, a rating two hours later, points, and a private conversation with the owner if something went wrong.
- Joining is designed to take one scan, a few seconds, instead of an app download.
- Private feedback feels like a friend checking in, not a survey.
- The staff pitch fits in four words: “Scan to get points!”
The trade-off
Depending on one platform is a real risk: its rules, pricing and stability are outside your control. That is why I planned an “escape route” in the concept, with Telegram or SMS as fallback channels, and kept the owner side as a normal web and mobile app.
The lesson: sometimes the best interface is the one people already have on their phone.
